Sunliving Travel has a wealth of travel industry experience. The directors are Tony Moy, co-founder of Page & Moy, and Paul Cresswell, who has held many senior positions in the travel trade. The company’s general manager is Phil Cree, a qualified accountant with 16 years’ experience at Page & Moy. Yvonne Gordon, with over 30 years’ experience in travel, heads up our reservations function, responsible for all matters in the office including the taking and processing of bookings. Peter Short is our head of marketing, keen to put across the Freewheel ‘message’ in many different formats.
The hallmarks of Freewheel have always been customer care and service, which sets it apart from other tour operators. From the moment you call or make your booking online you will receive personal attention from our experienced staff, which means we listen to your requests and make sure you get the right holiday for you and your companions. Our tour hosts or local reps make sure that our holidays are then delivered to you on the ground.
The use of quality hotels, chosen after careful research, is another aspect of Freewheel’s approach. We have had relationships with many of our hotels for a number of years. This means we are valued partners and that Freewheel clients are treated well. We have chosen hotels which offer the expected levels of comfort for their category (mostly 3 or 4 star), but which also have that little bit extra to offer. This may be a swimming pool, attractive gardens, or health facilities.
Our range of tours is expanding. We now go to seven European countries : Austria, France, Holland, Spain, Ireland, Czech Republic, and Italy.
The style or format of our holidays is changing. We have traditional hotel-to-hotel cycling holidays, single centre cycling holidays, holidays where you stay on a boat, and holidays lasting 2 or 3 nights or up to 12 nights. Most of our holidays are self-guided, but we also feature guided holidays where a tour leader accompanies a small group of cyclists. If you’re on your own, joining one of these guided group holidays could be your ideal choice.
There really is something for everyone. We can advise which holidays are best for families with younger children, which ones suit regular cyclists who want more of a “challenge”, and which ones allow you to add on extra nights in great cities like Paris, Amsterdam or Venice.
Have a look at what’s on offer. There’s sure to be something to appeal.
