With the chance to see some of Austria’s finest mountain scenery and a host of attractions for all ages, we think that this trip is perfect for families wanting to enjoy a mix of easy, stress-free cycling and fun activities.

The itinerary is relaxed, allowing plenty of time to explore the region by bike, on foot and by cable car and chairlift. An enticing array of activities are also available, from tobogganing, archery and rafting to exploring incredible glaciers and waterfalls.

The tour starts in the pretty village of Krimml, high in the Hohe Tauern National Park, close to Europe’s highest waterfall which plunges 1,250 feet in three remarkable cascades. The cycling route follows the Salzach Valley on dedicated paths through pine forests, picturesque villages and flower-strewn meadows.

As you approach Kaprun, the snow-capped peaks of Austria’s highest mountain range come into view, at 12,400 feet the Grossglockner is an awesome sight. The route continues along the lakeside through stylish Zell am See to Maria Alm, an attractive village at the foot of the imposing Steinernes Meer mountain range. The 9-night tour continues through a dramatic gorge to Lofer, your last base before the return transfer to Salzburg, where you have the option to extend your holiday and explore this historic city.

With hand-picked hotels, many with swimming pools and sports and leisure facilities, a multitude of activities for all ages and remarkable scenery at every turn, this is a trip not to be missed!
