Cádiz, the oldest city in western Europe: full of history and beauty, its monuments and stunning beaches are enough to make any visitor fall in love with it.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN SEVILLE
Your holiday will begin in Seville, a vibrant, charismatic city, which for most of the year enjoys terrific sunshine. Seville's authentic Spanish culture, history and folklore make for a wonderful international tourist destination.
DAY 2: SEVILLE TO CARMONA
Distance: 31 miles (50 km). Climb: 1591 ft (485 m).
Not long after leaving Seville, you will reach another jewel in Andalucia's crown, the hilltop town of Carmona: its city walls hold many treasures, including churches, palaces and an imposing Arab fortress.
Today the route will take you along a network of cycle tracks beside the river Guadaira, and through fields filled with sunflowers and cereals. The Alcazar, now converted into the Parador Hotel, will be your home for the night.
DAY 3: CARMONA TO MONTELLANO
Distance: 42 miles (68 km). Climb: 1949 ft (594 m).
Today's longer route will lead you to the small historic town of Montellano. You will get there riding along cycle tracks and winding country roads.
You will pass several small traditional towns along the way where you can stop for a refreshing beer and a chilled 'Jerez'!
Tonight's hotel is one of our most popular, and could offer the perfect opportunity for an extra night. Why not enjoy a rest day by the pool, surrounded by olive and almond groves and the sounds of nature?
DAY 4: MONTELLANO TO ARCOS DE LA FRONTERA
Distance: 37 miles (60 km). Climb: 1998 ft (609 m).
Most of today's ride will lead you along very quiet country roads and a "Via Verde" (a pretty railway line now converted into a cycle lane).
From Montellano, where you will be able to see the mountains of Grazalema in the distance, you will ride among beautiful Mediterranean woodland, by the side of the river Guadalete to Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most photogenic hilltop towns in Spain.
You will pass through the typically Andalucian town of Puerto Serrano today, where we'd recommend you stop for lunch!
DAY 5: ARCOS TO JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA
Distance: 35 miles (56 km). Climb: 1345 ft (410 m).
Today you will continue into the very heartland of Flamenco: Jerez de la Frontera, where you will hear music on every corner!
A town also famous for its School of Andalusian Dressage Horses and sherry wineries.
From Arcos the cycling is more undulating and follows the river Guadalete downstream. There are several small villages where you can stop for a welcome break.
DAY 6: JEREZ TO CÁDIZ
Distance: 40 miles (65 km). Climb: 338 ft (103 m).
Your final ride will guide you to the sandy beaches of Puerto de Santa María. Here you can enjoy a well earned dip and day relaxing in the Andalucian sunshine.
There are many restaurants here to enjoy! Why not try some delicious, fresh, local fish!
Heading south again, you will finish your tour at the impressive city of Cádiz, thought to be the oldest city in western Europe. Here you will find beautiful monuments and stunning beaches that are enough to make any visitor fall in love! You won't want to leave!
The Parador will offer you one last night of luxury, ending your trip on a real high note.
DAY 7: DEPARTURE OR EXTRA NIGHTS
Why not take a few extra nights, and enjoy more time in this spectacular hotel with its spa and swimming pools. Cádiz is well worth exploring at your leisure and you can always hit the beach if you want to simply relax.
There are many regular trains from Cádiz back to Seville. The journey takes around 1hr 35mins. Seville is also a great location to spend an extra night or two!
