Purple sage, deep green pine forests and the sparkling blue waters of the Adriatic: these are the dominant colours of the coastal region in the north of Dalmatia. Discover small, hidden bays for bathing and little fishing villages. Jump into crystal clear water and relax on the sun deck. On this cycling holiday in Croatia, you pedal through sweet smelling woods and catch glimpses of the wonderful sea and the numerous small islands.
The route mostly follows paved roads which are quiet if you avoid the busy holiday season. The route does involve some steep inclines, but you can spend half or whole days on the ship and go swimming instead of cycling if you wish.
Day 1: Individual arrival in Zadar. Zadar - Vir (30 km) / 200 vertical metres by bike
Embarkation between 11.30 and 13.00 in Zadar. You are welcomed on board by the tour guide with drinks and a snack. Your first bike trip is in the afternoon. It takes you through Kožino, Petrčane and Zaton to Nin and over a bridge to Vir, on the island of the same name.
Day 2: Vir – Molat island – Zverinac island, approx. 20 km / 250 vertical metres by bike
In the morning, relax on the boat as it takes you to the island of Molat. In Molat, you get back on your bike and cycle to Zapuntel and back. In the afternoon you sail by boat to the island of Zverinac.
Day 3: Zverinac island - Dugi Otok island - Rava island (35 km)/530 vertical metres by bike
First, you go by boat to Božava on the island of Dugi Otok. Today's cycle ride takes you to the lighthouse of Veli Rat and then on via Verunić, Božava and Dragove to Brbinj. Finally, the boat takes you to the Sali, the main town on Dugi Otok island.
Day 4: Dugi Otok island – Kornati islands – Šibenik, approx. 10 km /200 vertical metres by bike
After breakfast, you cycle to Telašćica Nature Park, where you walk to a salt water lake and impressive cliffs. You have lunch on board and the boat takes course for the Kornati Islands National Park. After about 4 to 5 hours you reach Šibenik.
Day 5: Šibenik – Krka National Park – Vodice, approx. 20 km / 400 vertical metres by bike
First, the boat takes you along Krka river to Skradin. Today, the short cycle tour begins to the famous Krka waterfalls. The river falls over a distance of 800 m through 17 waterfalls down 46 m into the deep. Back in Skradin you go on board and leave for the harbour of Martinska. From there, you cycle to the place where you stay the night – Vodice.
Day 6: Vodice – Murter island, approx. 30 km / 270 vertical metres by bike
The day begins with a great cycle tour! You'll get to know a section of the coast first, with lots of pretty islands. You soon reach a viewing point, known as "Okit". Via Tribunj and Sovlje you continue on to Tisno. Crossing a bridge you cycle on to the island of Murter and from there via Lovišća, Plitka Vala, Betina and Murter to the bay of Podvrške.
Day 7: Murter island – Pašman island – Ugljan island – Zadar, approx. 30 km /290 vertical metres by bike
As you have breakfast on board, you are taken to Tkon on the island of Pašman. Here you hop on to your bike and cycle from Tkon via Pašman, Neviđane, Dobropoljana and Ždrelac to the bridge that connects the two islands of Pašman and Ugljan. You continue on via Kali to Preko. In the afternoon the boat takes you back to Zadar. On the way back you stop for a last dip in the sea.
Day 8: Individual departure
Disembarkation is after breakfast until 9 am
You cycle through fragrant forests and enjoy fantastic views of the open sea. in which small islands and colorful boats frolic on the horizon. The cycling cruise in the national parks of Dalmatia is pure vacation in one of the most beautiful regions of the Mediterranean.

About the Rental Bikes
This cycling holiday uses quality crossbar and unisex hybrid bikes based on KTM frame technology, Selle Royal saddles, Shimano components and puncture-proof tyres to ensure that you have an enjoyable cycle tour. The bikes feature modern V-brakes, aluminium frames with mudguards, comfortable saddles and a rack for a supplied waterproof pannier.
You will also receive a handlebar bag and map holder for easy navigation when riding your daily itinerary. Prices advertised on the website include standard bike hire (unless stated). Colour and specification may vary from the image shown.

Accessories
If you would like GPX files for a suitable device, please request them at the time of booking. Devices are not provided and please make sure that you bring along with you any fittings required to attach the Garmin (or similar) to the handlebars. You might want to download maps onto your phone to avoid data charges when roaming.
All bikes are provided with standard flat pedals. You can bring your own cycling pedals, but ensure that you have the correct tools to remove the pedals if the tour does not have a welcome meeting. You may also not be able to travel through airports with the tools if you are carrying hand luggage only.
You can rent a men's bike with a crossbar, unisex/female bike with a sloping tube or an electric bike for a supplement.
Gears
7 speed bikes are equipped with a Shimano Nexus gear hub and 21 speed bikes have a Shimano Alivio derailleur. We request 21 speed bikes for all cycling holidays (when available).
Frame Sizing
When you make a booking with us, we take your height(s) and the appropriate bike size is matched up accordingly. Unisex frame 21-gears with freewheel. Sizes: 56 / 51 / 46 / 43 cm. Unisex 7-gears-bikes with back pedalling brake. Sizes: 56 / 51 / 46 cm. Men’s speed bikes 21-gears with free wheel and crossbar. Sizes: 64 / 60 / 56 "sloping" cm. Helmets are not provided and you will need to bring your own to use.
We always recommend wearing a helmet when on your cycling holiday!
Bike Hire Insurance
This cycle tour benefits from bike insurance against rental bike theft and damage in the holiday price. Please make sure you lock up the bike, leave it where told by the hotel and treat your hire bicycle as if the bike was your own. Any negligent treatment of the bike will exempt you from cover. We advise you to ensure that you have adequate travel insurance for your cycling holiday prior to arrival.
Electric Bike Hire
Why not upgrade your cycling experience to an E-Bike (Electric Bike)? Using a power assisted bike is a great way to go on a cycling holiday and will help you smooth out inclines or longer days in the saddle. Each E-Bike features an LCD display, removable batteries for easy charging and assistance up to 25 km/h with a range of around 120 km for each full charge depending on usage.
