This exciting cycling holiday is awaiting you with everything Northern Europe has to offer: Explore both capital cities Stockholm and Copenhagen, as well as Gothenburg. Cycle along the Kattegatt route along the wonderful West Coast and Sweden's first national bike path till Falkenberg. Most of the times water is accompanying you and of course there is a lot to explore - UNESCO world cultural heritage palace Drottningholm, the archipelago of Gothenburg, great nature reserves, culinary highlights as well as Copenhagen, nordic noble as always and bike city par excellence.
Day 1: Arrival to Stockholm
Take your first stroll through Sweden’s capital and explore some of the many sights and tourist attractions. In the evening a welcome briefing and bike fitting (if booked) takes place. Overnight stay in Stockholm.
Day 2: Stockholm - SoĢdertaĢlje, 60km
The bike trip takes you along an ancient trade route that has existed since the Viking Age, skirting along Sweden’s third largest lake, Lake MaĢlaren. On the way, you pass the World Heritage listed Drottningholm Palace. Here, right on the shore of Lake MaĢlaren, the royal family grew up. Also located in the grounds is the Chinese Pavilion dating from the 18th century. You continue by short ferry trip in direction SoĢdertaĢlje. At Sturehov, located in eastern Lake MaĢlaren, it’s time for a late lunch. SoĢdertaĢlje, home of Scania is located south of Stockholm where Lake MaĢlaren is connected to the Baltic Sea through the lock in SoĢdertaĢlje canal. Overnight stay in SoĢdertaĢlje.
Day 3: SoĢdertaĢlje - Gothenburg, 15-35km
The express train brings you to Gothenburg, which you will arrive around lunch time. In the afternoon there is enough time to explore the Southern archipelago of Gothenburg, you reach it in less than an hour by ferry (not included). Explore the car free islands of Styrsö and Donsö, as well as the ilence and idyll of the archipelago. Take a bath in the refreshing sea before you head back to Gothenburg and enjoy the evening in one of the numerous restaurants of the city.
Day 4: Gothenburg - Kungsbacka, 40-65km
You are cycling out of town, passing Särö, the former playground of the ancient royal family and Gothenburg high society. Cliffs, lush forests, bays and marinas line your path. In the late afternoon you reach Kungsbacka, a cozy small town with impressing old city.
Day 5: Kungsbacka - Varberg, 60-75km
Enjoy the breathtaking vies on today's route along of horse farms and fields, additionally the Li burial ground with its more than 100 stone megaliths is awaiting you. Once you reach Åsa the sea is accompanying you again and leading you to Varberg. As you approach the small town its castle towers over you. Optional you can visit the fortress and the Bockstensmann, a medieval man's body found from the 14th century (not included).
Day 6: Varberg - Falkenberg - Helsingborg, 40km
Look forward to picturesque fishing villages and handicraft. In TraĢsloĢvslaĢge you can feast on freshly cooked lobsters and stroll through the older parts of the city. Today's bike goal is Falkenberg, one of the oldest cities in the area. Afterwards you go by train (not included) within 90 minutes to Helsingborg where you stay overnight.
Day 7: Helsingborg - Helsingor - Copenhagen, 55km
After breakfast the ferry (approx £35 per person, not included) brings you in just 20 minutes to Helsingør and you have reached Danish territory. Take your time to stroll through the picturesque harbour city and visit palace Kronoberg before you continue along beautiful sandy beaches, wonderful landscape and magnificent smelling forests to Copenhagen, the pulsating capital city of Denmark and bike city par excellence.
Day 8: Individual departure
After breakfast your tour ends in Copenhagen. We are happy to extend your holidays with extra nights.
You cycle on well sign-posted bike paths and gravel roads as well as side roads with less traffic, short sections are on roads with more traffic. To some extent there are simpler trail conditions with raw gravel. Flat to slightly hilly tour course.

Flights are available with a number of airlines to your required airport or you can travel to the start using alternative methods such as rail or road.
We recommend using Skyscanner to find the best flight prices by date or Rail Europe for European rail travel. There is customer car parking available at most hotels for a supplement. Please contact us for more details.

You do not need to go back to the starting point of the cycling holiday as all hire bikes are left at the final hotel.

About the Rental Bikes
This cycling holiday uses quality crossbar and unisex hybrid bikes. Quality Shimano components and puncture-proof tyres are among the components that will ensure you have an enjoyable cycle tour.
You will also receive a handlebar bag and map holder for easy navigation while. Prices advertised on the website include standard bike hire (unless stated). Colour and specification may vary from the image shown.

Accessories
If you would like GPX files for a suitable device, please request them at the time of booking. Devices are not provided. Please ensure you bring any fittings required to attach the Garmin (or similar) to the handlebars. You might want to download maps onto your phone to avoid data charges when roaming.
All bikes are provided with standard flat pedals. You can bring your own cycling pedals but ensure that you have the correct tools to remove the pedals if the tour does not have a welcome meeting. You may also not be able to travel through airports with the tools if you are carrying hand luggage only.
You can rent a men's bike with a crossbar, unisex/female bike with a sloping tube or an electric bike for a supplement.

Frame Sizing
When you make a booking with us, we take your height(s) and the appropriate bike size is matched up accordingly. Unisex frame 21-gears with freewheel. Sizes: 56 / 51 / 46 / 43 cm. Unisex 7-gears-bikes with back pedalling brake. Sizes: 56 / 51 / 46 cm. Men’s speed bikes 21-gears with free wheel and crossbar. Sizes: 64 / 60 / 56 "sloping" cm. Helmets are not provided, and you will need to bring your own to use.
We always recommend wearing a helmet when on your cycling holiday!
Bike Hire Insurance
This cycle tour benefits from bike insurance against rental bike theft and damage in the holiday price. Please make sure you lock up the bike, leave it where told by the hotel, and treat your hire bicycle as if the bike was your own. Any negligent treatment of the bike will exempt you from cover. We advise you to ensure that you have adequate travel insurance for your cycling holiday prior to arrival.
Electric Bike Hire
Why not upgrade your cycling experience to an E-Bike (Electric Bike)? Using a power assisted bike is a great way to go on a cycling holiday and will help you smooth out inclines or longer days in the saddle. Each E-Bike features an LCD display, removable batteries for easy charging, and assistance up to 25 km/h. They have a range of around 120 km for each full charge.
